Brandywine Places 40 Student-Athletes On PSUAC Fall All-Academic Teams

MEDIA, Pa. – A total of 40 Penn State Brandywine student-athletes from three sports earned a place on the Penn State University Athletic Conference All-Academic Team following the conclusion of the fall semester.

To earn a place on the PSUAC All-Academic Team, student-athletes must amass a minimum GPA of 3.0 during their semester of competition or own a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater and be at least a sophomore in both their academic and athletic standing. Under normal circumstances, the golf and men's and women's cross country teams would also earn all-academic awards during the fall, but with competition slated for the spring in those sports, individuals will have an opportunity to claim academic awards during the upcoming semester.

Men's soccer led the way with 22 honorees, while the women's soccer team saw 10 student-athletes honored and the volleyball squad had eight players claim academic laurels. Nearly 65 percent of the 62 fall student-athletes earned recognition.

Overall, Brandywine's 16 varsity teams combined to produce a 3.25 GPA during the fall semester. Fifteen squads recorded a grade-point average above 3.0. The volleyball team paced all women's teams, while the cross country/track & field teams paced the men's side. Both recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.47.
