Four Brandywine Teams Receive United East Academic Awards

MEDIA, Pa. -- Four Penn State Brandywine teams received Academic Team Awards from the United East Conference following the 2024-25 academic year on Tuesday. 
 
Each United East-sponsored program that achieved a team grade-point average of 3.25 or higher during this academic year in named as an Academic Team. A total of 117 squads from the United East's 17 member institutions received this year's awards.
 
The four teams from Brandywine include men's tennis, women's cross country, golf and softball.
 
Brandywine led all United East men's tennis squads with a cumulative 3.69 GPA. Three of Brandywine's seven men's tennis student-athletes completed the 2024-25 academic year with a 4.0 GPA.
 
Women's cross country posted a 3.39 GPA, while golf accumulated a 3.37 GPA and softball tallied a 3.33 GPA. 
 
Overall, Brandywine's 12 varsity teams that featured 175 student-athletes amassed a GPA of 3.09 last year, including a 3.18 mark during the spring semester.
