Brandywine Makes Spring Debut At Scarlet Raptor Invitational
WILLINGBORO, N.J. – The Penn State Brandywine golf team made its spring debut as the Lions placed sixth at the Scarlet Raptor Spring Invitational hosted by Rutgers-Camden on Monday afternoon.
Brandywine's four-man team score totaled 336, 13 strokes off the pace set by team champion Anne Arundel College. Lancaster Bible's Jake Rotelle claimed the individual title with a round of 74.
Leading the way for the Lions was Matt Cavanaugh (Upper Darby, Pa./Bonner-Prendie), who finished in a three-way tie for fifth in the 53-man field. Cavanaugh carded an 18-hole score of 78, tied for the eighth-lowest round in program history.
Eric Angle (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) and Brady Foytack (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) posted identical rounds of 82 to tie for 16th place. The round of 82 is a personal-best for Angle.
Steven Kimmel (Avondale, Pa.) turned in a round of 94, while Ty Coccia (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) tallied 95 strokes.
Brandywine is back in action Thursday at the Ursinus Spring Classic beginning at 8:00 AM.
