Brandywine Sits Sixth After First Round Of LBC Spring Invitational

LEBANON, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine golf team sits sixth following the first 18 holes of the two-day Lancaster Bible Spring Invitational.

The Lions posted 330 strokes and are 23 shots off the pace set by Hood College after the opening round at Lebanon Country Club.

Topping the Lions was Eric Angle (West Chester, Pa./Henderson), who carded a six-over-par round of 78 to tie for ninth in the 37-man field.

Steven Kimmel (Avondale, Pa.) posted a round of 82, while Matt Cavanaugh (Drexel Hill, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) completed the course in 83 strokes. Brady Foytack (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) recorded 87 strokes and Joseph Koehler (Chadds Ford, Pa./Garnet Valley) tallied a 108, while Carl Galantino (Media, Pa./Penncrest) and Charlie Hughes (West Chester, Pa.) produced identical rounds of 114.

The second and final round of the Lancaster Bible Spring Invitational begins on Tuesday at noon.
