Brandywine Begins Spring Slate At Swarthmore

SWARTHMORE, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine golf team opened its spring slate with the first round of the Swarthmore College Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

The Lions sit 16th following the first 18 holes of the 54-hole tournament. Franklin & Marshall set the pace, leading Dickinson by two strokes.

Eric Angle (West Chester, Pa./Henderson) posted the Lions' low round of the day by carding an 84 on the par-71 White Manor Country Club course. Matt Cavanaugh (Upper Darby, Pa./Bonner-Prendie) finished two shots behind Angle, while Carl Galantino (Media, Pa./Penncrest) shot a career-best round of 88. Nicholas Grantland (Media, Pa./Penncrest) totaled 101 strokes to round out the Lions.

Brandywine begins the final day of the Swarthmore Invitational Monday at 9:00 AM.
