Galantino, Grantland Named To CSC Academic All-District Team
MEDIA, Pa. -- A pair of Penn State Brandywine golf student-athlete received academic honors from the College Sports Communicators as Carl Galantino (Media, Pa./Penncrest) and Nicholas Grantland (Media, Pa./Penncrest) were named to the Academic All-District Team recently.
To be eligible for CSC Academic All-District, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, hold a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 or higher and compete in at least 75 percent of their team's matches. Academic All-Americans will be announced in July.
Galantino owns a 3.74 grade-point average as a management major in Penn State's Smeal College of Business. This spring, Galantino was also named United East Scholar Athlete for the second time and was selected to the conference's All-Sportsmanship Team. He competed in seven matches for the Lions as a second-year member of the team, posting a career-low round of 88 during the Swarthmore Invitational in March.
Grantland is a business major who has earned a 3.75 GPA following his junior year at Brandywine. A first-year member of the golf team, Grantland was named United East Scholar Athlete earlier this spring. He played in seven matches, carding his low round of the season (93) during the conference championship in April.
