Bio
Matt Duffey was hired as head women's soccer coach at Penn State Brandywine in March 2026 and begins his first season leading the Lions this fall.
Duffey brought more than 20 years of soccer coaching experience to Brandywine. Most recently, Duffey was an assistant coach at Bryn Mawr College from 2024-25, serving as the team’s goalkeeper coach and as a tactical assistant.
Prior to joining the Bryn Mawr coaching staff, Duffey spent five seasons in the high school ranks, leading the girls varsity soccer program at New Hope-Solebury High School from 2022-23 after heading the boys soccer team at Upper Moreland High School for three years. Under his guidance, New Hope-Solebury claimed the 2023 District 2A championship and qualified for the state tournament.
In addition, Duffey has coached at Upper Moreland Soccer Club since 2009. Along with serving as a head coach, Duffey has completed two stints as the club’s director of player development, as well as working as director of travel soccer and director of soccer education and coaching.
A Delaware County native and a Springfield High School graduate, Duffey owns a U.S. Soccer D License, along with a Level Six Coaching Certification and Level Three Goalkeeper Certification from the NSCAA.
Duffey is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, where he played Division III soccer. He earned his master’s degree in sport leadership from Virginia Commonwealth University.
