ABCA Honors Brandywine Baseball For Academics
MEDIA, Pa. -- For the second-straight year, the Penn State Brandywine baseball team earned the Team Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Association and Sports Attack on Wednesday.
The award honors ABCA member programs that posted a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year. Nearly 500 college teams received the award. Brandywine was one of just four United East Conference squads recognized.
During the 2025-26 academic year, Head Coach Vinny Gallo's team recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.15. A department-high 19 members of the squad earned United East Conference All-Academic honors after producing a GPA of 3.2 or higher during the spring semester.
In addition to academic success, Brandywine reached the United East postseason for the first time in 2026, earning a 7-6 first-round victory over Wilson College on Apr. 28. The Lions won 15 games during their second season as a member of the United East and NCAA Division III.
