Three Brandywine Student-Athletes Honored On PSUAC All-Senior Teams
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- A trio of Penn State Brandywine fall and winter student-athletes were named to the Penn State University Athletic Conference All-Senior Teams as Averie Florschutz (Chadds Ford, Pa./Kennett), Ally Giannakarios (Brookhaven, Pa./Sun Valley) and Ginamarie McNamee (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) earned accolades.
Florschutz was named to the women's soccer team after leading Brandywine to three PSUAC Championships and three appearances at the USCAA Tournament. During her three years on campus, the Lions posted a 33-16-2 record, including a perfect 23-0 mark against conference competition. Florschutz, a two-time all-conference performer, recorded 34 points with 12 goals and 10 assists in 48 career matches. She was named USCAA All-American honorable mention following her junior season.
Giannakarios and McNamee were two of the 11 players from around the Commonwealth named to the women's basketball team. The duo helped Brandywine to three-straight PSUAC Tournament appearances and a conference championship in 2017-18.
Giannakarios was a three-year member of the team and earned a trio of USCAA National Academic Team awards. She was also a two-time PSUAC All-Academic Team selection. On the court, she played in 54 games over two seasons, recording 164 points and 193 rebounds.
McNamee has played in 73 games with 30 starts during her Brandywine career. She owns 252 points, 229 rebounds and 87 assists. McNamee is also a two-time PSUAC All-Academic Team recipient.
