Brandywine Falls In First-Ever United East Match

MEDIA, Pa. -- Playing in the first United East Conference match in department history, the Penn State Brandywine women's soccer team was defeated 6-1 by visiting St. Elizabeth University on Saturday afternoon.

The Eagles built a 5-0 lead at halftime, aided by four goals from Laila Kendle.

Brandywine got on the board late in the second half as Hope Priemon (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) found the back of the net for the second time this fall. Priemon stole a clearing attempt and broke in all alone, sliding a shot under Eagles' goalkeeper Kaylee Davis.

Emily Orr (Eddystone, Pa./Ridley) made four saves, while playing the first half in goal for Brandywine. Ava Craddock (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) relieved Orr at the break, stopping two second-half shots.

Cecilia Ballas (Aston, Pa./Garnet Valley) registered two shots for the Lions.

Brandywine (1-5-1, 0-1 UEC) rounds out a three-match home stand on Wednesday when the Lions host Cedar Crest at 4:00 PM.
