Brandywine Hosts United East Preview Meet
MEDIA, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine cross country teams played host to the United East Conference Preview Meet Friday evening. Both the Lion men and women finished in 11th place in their respective fields.
On the Brandywine women's side, Anna Caporale (Westampton, N.J./Rancocas Valley Regional) led the team with a 43rd-place finish, clocking in at 34:26. Naya Rivera (Mays Landing, N.J./Oakcrest) completed the 6K run in 38:57.
Raelyn Loper (West Chester, Pa./Rustin) posted a time of 44:37, while Charlotte Aldridge (Landenberg, Pa./St. Mark's) crossed the finish line seven seconds later and Vienna Fulginiti (Telford, Pa./Souderton) registered a mark of 46:03.
Jayden Diawara (Glenolden, Pa./Interboro) was the top men's finisher for Brandywine, running to a time of 36:38, placing 50th in the 99-man field.
Patrick McGuire (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) notched an 8K mark of 40:17, while Matt Briddes (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) ran to a time of 41:46. Noah Walker (Bremen, Ga./Bremen) recorded a time of 43:21; Kaiere Cornitcher (Philadelphia, Pa./Cardinal O'Hara) turned in a time of 45:40; and Mateo Yusuf (Cressona, Pa./Blue Mountain) rounded out the Lions in 48:48.
Penn State Berks claimed the men's title, while Lancaster Bible was the women's team champion. Clarisse Hayden (24:48) of Cairn and Williamson's Chase Ely (27:05) won individual medalist honors on the women's side and men's side, respectively.
