Matos Receives Grant From Alex Morgan Foundation At WeCOACH Workshop

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Penn State Brandywine Assistant Athletic Director Myeisha Matos was presented with a $10,000 grant from the Alex Morgan Foundation during the WeCOACH Regional Workshop on Monday at George Mason University.

The Alex Morgan Foundation's Coaching Moms Initiative Grant was started in 2024 and is designed to provide funding for childcare, resources and community support, allowing mothers to stay in coaching, while balancing their professional and personal lives.

In addition to serving at Brandywine's assistant athletic director for recruiting and retention, Matos is in the midst of her second season as head men's and women's cross country coach. She and her wife, Dionna, are proud parents of son, Demi, who was born in March.

Matos received her grant at the conclusion of the WeCOACH Regional Workshop, which has partnered with the Alex Morgan Foudnation for the Coaching Moms Initiative. Matos was a speaker during the Moms in Coaching panel earlier in the day.

A 2015 Penn State Brandywine graduate, Matos returned to Brandywine as the recruiting, retention and alumni coordinator in 2019.
