Nicolson Elevated To Head Men’s And Women’s Tennis Coach
MEDIA, Pa. -- After spending the 2025 spring season as interim head coach, Lesley Nicolson has been elevated to head coach of the Penn State Brandywine men's and women's tennis teams announced Director of Athletics Bobbi Caprice on Thursday.
Nicolson joined the Brandywine coaching staff as an assistant coach before taking over head coaching duties on an interim basis in March. Nicolson led the men's and women's teams through their first seasons of Division III and United East Conference competition this spring.
Prior to arriving at Brandywine, Nicolson served as the head tennis coach at Marple Newtown High School in 2024. She also spent time as a coach at Radnor High School.
A member of the United States Tennis Association (USTA) for nearly 20 years, Nicolson remains a competitive tennis player, competing in regional and national USTA-sanctioned tournaments. She currently competes on several USTA women's teams, mixed doubles squads and Pennsylvania and Delaware Cup teams.
A graduate of Drexel University, Nicolson received her degree in electrical engineering. She worked in the engineering industry for Sun Oil, PECO Energy and PJM Power Grid. Nicolson is also a classically-trained pianist who has competed nationally and internationally.
