Four Lions Named To Academic All-District Volleyball Team

MEDIA, Pa. -- Four Penn State Brandywine sophomore volleyball student-athletes were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday as Emma O'Reilly (Horsham, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham), Aaliyna Patel (Bowie, Md./Eleanor Roosevelt), Hailey Piccirillo (Broadlands, Va./Virginia Academy) and Morgan Rizer (Denton, Md./North Caroline) all earned the honor.
 
A student-athlete must have a minimum grade-point average of 3.50 and compete in 90 percent of the institution's games or start in at least 66 percent to be eligible for the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team. Academic All-Americans will be announced in January.
 
As a business major, O'Reilly owns a 3.84 grade-point average and was a United East Conference Scholar-Athlete as a freshman in 2024. This fall, O'Reilly led the Lions in digs (208), kills (146) and aces (45), while starting all 24 matches.
 
Patel has earned a 3.70 GPA, while claiming United East Scholar-Athlete status as a biology major. On the court, she posted 167 digs and 17 aces during her sophomore season.
 
Following her second season at Brandywine, Piccirillo has recorded a 3.83 GPA as a biology major. Also a United East Scholar-Athlete, Piccirillo competed in all 24 matches and 80 sets for the Lions, registering 136 kills, 64 digs and 26 blocks.
 
Rizer is a psychology major who has amassed a 3.66 GPA and was awarded United East Scholar-Athlete status as a freshman. She tallied a team-best 39 blocks, while adding 111 kills, 43 digs and 29 aces after playing in all 24 matches this fall.
 
Brandywine finished the 2025 season with a record of 12-12, six-win improvement compared to 2024, and reached the quarterfinal round of the United East Conference Tournament.
