Brandywine Downed By Rosemont 61-52

ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team dropped a 61-52 decision at Rosemont College on Wednesday night.

Brandywine trailed 17-15 following a layup from Jamar Wright (Wilmington, Del./Conrad School of Science) at the 9:48 of the first half, but those would be the Lions' final points for nearly six minutes as Rosemont extended the margin to 14.

Joey Brusha (Abington, Pa./Abington) ended Rosemont's 12-0 run with a basket and Amari Little (Ellicott City, Md./Marriotts Ridge) followed with a three-pointer as Brandywine closed to within 31-21 at the half.

The Lions narrowed the gap to seven points on three occasions during the first five minutes of the second half; however, Rosemont used a 14-5 spurt to build its largest lead of the night with under eight minutes to play.

Brandywine made a late push as Brusha, Little and Javon Nelson (Philadelphia, Pa./String Theory) knocked down triples during a 13-4 run, but the Lions could not overcome its 16-point deficit.

Jaden Fogg (Morrisville, Pa./Morrisville) produced a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double, while Little tallied 10 points and three boards. Brusha and Nelson both chipped in eight points and Damir Shelley (Hackensack, N.J./Hackensack) handed out a game-high five assists.

Brandywine (2-9, 0-3 United East) will close out the fall semester Saturday at home against SUNY ESF at 2:00 PM.
