Brandywine Closes Out Season At Keystone
LA PLUME, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team could not overcome an early deficit as the Lions closed out the 2024-25 season following an 86-64 setback at Keystone on Saturday afternoon.
Elijah Bryant (Philadelphia, Pa./Paul Robeson) scored the first two points of the afternoon, but Keystone erupted for 14-straight points during the next five minutes.
Keystone extended the margin to 14 points before Brandywine began to whittle away at the deficit, climbing with three at the 8:20 mark following five-straight points from Jack Swider (Conshohocken, Pa./Phil-Mont Christian Academy).
The hosts responded with a 21-4 surge to build a commanding 17-point halftime edge. The Giants' lead never dipped below 14 points during the final 20 minutes.
Jamar Wright (Wilmington, Del./Conrad School of Science) suited up in his 106th game at Brandywine, tying Bryce Barrouk for the most games played in program history.
Joey Brusha (Abington, Pa./Abington) buried a trio of three-pointers for nine points and Dillon Jones (Wilmington, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) hauled in seven boards. Brusha, Jones and Wright were three of Brandywine's five seniors playing in their final games, along with Ethan Toney (St. Leonard, Md./Calvert) and Isaiah Leonard (Philadelphia, Pa./Motivation).
Jaden Fogg (Morrisville, Pa./Morrisville) led 12 players in the scoring column with 14 points, while Ben Bass (Arlington, Va./Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School) pulled in a team-high eight rebounds.
Brandywine won three of its final four games to finish with a record of 7-18 (4-12 UEC) during its first season as a member of NCAA Division III and the United East Conference.
