Brandywine Softball Cited For Academics By NFCA
MEDIA, Pa. -- The National Fast-Pitch Coaches Association named Penn State Brandywine to its All-Academic Softball Teams for the 10th consecutive year on Thursday. In addition, a program-record 11 Brandywine softball student-athletes earned Easton/NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete honors.
Brandywine tallied a 3.33 grade-point average during the 2024-25 academic year, including its 11 individual award winners, who all posted a GPA of 3.5 or greater. The Lions were one of five United East Conference squads to claim the team award, while recording the third-highest individual award total in the league.
Earning All-American Scholar-Athlete awards were rising seniors Lexi Bussenger, April Lewandowski, Kaylee Mushinski and Naya Rivera; rising juniors Anna Caporale and Gigi Duca; and rising sophomores Shelby DeCillis, Jordan DuBois, Kylie Ferris, Emma McElroy and Quinn Rosario. Mushinski claimed the honor for the second time in her three years at Brandywine.
Competing as a member of NCAA Division III and the United East Conference for the first time in 2025, Brandywine continued its championship run under the direction of Head Coach Mark Caserta, claiming the United East Conference title. Brandywine finished with a record of 35-8, its fourth-straight 35-win season.
