MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine stretched its winning streak to three-straight games following a 3-0 non-conference women's soccer victory at Brooklyn College on Wednesday night.
After winning just once during its first season of Division III play in 2024, Brandywine has outscored its last three opponents 9-1 en route to winning all three matches.
Emma Kearns (Springfield, Pa./Springfield), this week's United East Offensive Player of the Week, scored for the third consecutive outing. Kearns put the Lions on the board during the 25th minute, dribbling between a pair of defenders before beating Bulldogs' keeper April Hartje.
Peyton Lill (East Greenville, Pa./Upper Perkiomen) gave Brandywine an insurance marker early in the second half. Lill's long strike off a feed from Ava Craddock (Springfield, Pa./Springfield) was the first goal of her collegiate career, making the count 2-0 at the 58:26 mark.
Lill added a second goal with under 10 minutes to play in regulation. She followed Addy Stanton's (Henderson, Nev./Coronado) shot that was stopped by Hartje and drove home the rebound to provide the final margin.
Jasmin Alvarez (Tracy, Calif./Tracy), who was named United East Defender of the Week on Monday, stopped all four shots she faced to earn her second shutout and third victory of the season.
Brandywine (3-1) plays its next three matches at home beginning Saturday against John Jay at 2:00 PM.
