Game One: Penn State Brandywine 15, Lehman 2

Will Collison (Chestertown, Md./Queen Anne's County) collected two of the Lions' nine hits and drove in six runs, two shy of a single-game team record, to lead the offense to a 15-2 rout of the Lightning in the opener.

Collison recorded a sacrifice fly during a three-run first inning and cleared the bases with a three-run triple one frame later. He added a two-run, third-inning double.

Brandywine scored three times without needing a hit during the first inning. After a pair of errors and a walk loaded the bases, Collison drove in the first run of the season, while Ryan Snyder (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) added a marker with a groundout and Jason Hankins (Chichester, Pa./Chichester) stole home as part of a double steal.

In addition to Collison's three-run triple in the second, Snyder recorded his second RBI ground ball, while Luke DeVita (Howell, N.J./Howell) lifted a sacrifice fly to left field.

Two-run hits from Collison and David Kursman (Pennsauken, N.J./Pennsauken) highlighted a six-run third frame, while Daniel Horowitz (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) tripled and scored on a wild pitch to provide the Lions' final run in the fourth inning.

Brandywine's offense recorded eight stolen bases in as many attempts, including three from Ryan Brown (Bensalem, Pa./Bensalem), who also walked three times and scored three runs. The Lions took advantage of seven walks and five hit batters by Lehman hurlers.

Liam Nugent (Stafford, Va./Mountain View) worked the first three innings on the mound for the Lions, striking out four, to earn the win. Jackson Messick (Aston, Pa./Sun Valley) fanned three hitters in 1.0 inning, while Matt Delacruz (Exton, Pa./West Chester East) recorded two strikeouts during the final frame.

Game Two: Penn State Brandywine 14, Lehman 0

Four Brandywine pitchers combined for a one-hit shutout and the Lions' offense stayed hot with 13 more hits as Brandywine completed the sweep with a 14-0 game two triumph.

Jamey Massung (Philipsburg, Pa./Philipsburg-Osceola) went 3-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored at the plate, while Brown and Snyder both collected a pair of hits and drove in a run. Snyder also crossed home three times, while Kursman notched two RBI.

Nick Gordon (Chester Heights, Pa./Garnet Valley) tossed two scoreless innings to earn the win, striking out a pair, while Nick Fratangeli (Willow Street, Pa./Bonner-Prendie), Noah Walker (Bremen, Ga./Bremen) and Josh Hess (Panama City, Fla./Arnold) all spun a scoreless inning in relief.

Brandywine opened the scoring with five runs on five hits in the first stanza. Collison doubled in Brown and scored on Snyder's base hit. Snyder later scored via wild pitch, while Kursman drove in two with a double.

Snyder led off an eight-run third frame with a triple and crossed home when Massung singled, his first of two run-scoring hits in the inning. DeVita delivered a three-run triple into the left field corner, while Brown and Hankins added run-scoring knocks.

Brandywine (2-0) continues its season-opening home stand on Wednesday when the Lions face Delaware Valley for a doubleheader beginning at 3:00 PM.
