HAZLETON, Pa. -- The Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team was defeated for the second-straight day, falling 78-63 at Penn State Hazleton on Saturday.
Brandywine held an early 9-4 lead behind five points from Ja'bri White (Townsend, Del./St. Mark's), but the hosts scored 13-straight points during the next three minutes. Hazleton led for the duration of the first half after shooting nearly 60 percent from the field, opening up a lead as large as 13 points before Jaden Fogg's (Morrisville, Pa./Morrisville) layup brought the count to 36-25 at the break.
Jack Swider (Conshohocken, Pa./Phil-Mont Christian Academy) canned a pair of three-pointers during the first 67 seconds of the second half as the Lions trimmed the margin to eight points, but Hazleton countered with back-to-back triples and the remainder of the half belonged to the hosts.
Swider and White both produced 11 points to share the team lead, while Fogg poured in eight points and Ben Bass (Arlington, Va./Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School) collected seven points. Corwin Holland II (Bowie, Md./Rock Creek Christian) led the Lions on the boards with six rebounds.
