Brandywine Downs Rosemont 61-46

ROSEMONT, Pa. – The Penn State Brandywine men's basketball team won for the sixth time in eight United East Conference games, topping Rosemont 61-46 on Saturday afternoon.

Brandywine led wire-to-wire as Corwin Holland II (Bowie, Md./Rock Creek Christian) canned a pair of three-pointers during the first 64 seconds of the game.

The Lions held a 24-19 edge with 3:20 to go in the first half, but stretched the margin to 12 points at intermission by closing the period with a 9-2 run. Ja'bri White (Townsend, Del./St. Mark's) aided the run by converting a three-point play, while Holland beat the buzzer with a triple to make the count 33-21 through 20 minutes.

Brandywine never let the Ravens get back in the game during the second half, holding a double-figure lead for the duration of the stanza.

White and Bryan Warren (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) combined for the Lions' first 11 points of the half as the Lions' advantage increased to 16 points just over five minutes in. Brandywine used an 8-2 spurt, aided by another Holland three-pointer and a three-point play from Isaiah Johnson (Levittown, Pa./Conwell-Egan Catholic), opening up its biggest lead of the afternoon at 50-30.

White shot 6-of-6 from the field and connected on all four of his free throw attempts for a team-high 16 points, while Holland buried four triples and added 14 points, along with seven rebounds.

Warren chipped in 10 points, while Jack Swider (Conshohocken, Pa./Phil-Mont Christian Academy) grabbed a team-high eight boards.

Brandywine shot 51 percent from the field and held a 33-21 edge on the boards to overcome 20 turnovers.

The Lions (11-9, 6-2 UEC) travel to Wilson on Wednesday for a 5:00 PM game. The game has been pushed back one day to accommodate travel concerns following the winter storm expected to hit the area this weekend.
