Brandywine Rolls To Conference Victory; Fogg Nets 1,000th Point

MEDIA, Pa. -- Penn State Brandywine rolled to a 75-52 victory over Penn State Berks, highlighted by the 1,000th career point of Jaden Fogg's (Morrisville, Pa./Morrisville) collegiate career, in United East Conference men's basketball action on Saturday.

Fogg, who scored 564 points in two seasons at Bucks County Community College prior to transferring to Brandywine, sank a driving layup with 2:07 to play in the first half to reach the 1,000-point mark. He has scored 444 points during his 38-game Brandywine career, including a 15-point effort on Saturday.

Brandywine led wire-to-wire, scoring the first four points of the day before pushing the margin to double figures for the first time when Javon Nelson (Philadelphia, Pa./String Theory) buried a three-pointer at the 13:27 mark.

The visitors trimmed the margin to eight points, but Brandywine responded with an 11-0 surge with four scorers contributing a basket, including Ahmaar Godhania's (Lansdale, Pa./North Penn) triple that made the count 31-12 with under seven minutes to go in the opening half.

Brandywine continued to pull away, leading by 20 points when Ja'Bri White (Townsend, Del./St. Mark's) canned a jumper with 5:47 to play. The hosts extended the edge to 23 points at halftime as Corwin Holland II (Bowie, Md./Rock Creek Christian) drained a triple just before the buzzer.

Berks trimmed its deficit as low as 15 points, but Fogg answered with a bucket and Holland added a fast-break dunk in the span of just 20 seconds. Brandywine held a 20-point lead for the final 10 minutes of the game, swelling the margin as large as 27 points with under three minutes to play.

White topped the Lions in scoring with 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds, while Fogg paced Brandywine on the boards with eight. Holland added 11 points and Bryan Warren (Sicklerville, N.J./Timber Creek) notched nine points, six steals and four rebounds.

Brandywine scored 25 points off 20 Berks' turnovers, while committing just eight miscues. The Lions shot 43 percent from the field and limited Berks to 31 percent shooting.

Brandywine (7-7, 2-0 UEC) will look for its third-straight conference victory Wednesday when the Lions host Lancaster Bible at 5:30 PM.
